Helping nonprofits lead with clarity, health, and purpose
Stable and Growing was founded on a simple observation: many nonprofit organizations struggle not because they lack passion or commitment, but because they lack clarity, alignment, and healthy leadership structures.
Over more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience—as a CEO/President/Executive Director, board member, board chair, and consultant—I have seen firsthand how unclear governance, misaligned expectations, and reactive decision-making can undermine even the most mission-driven organizations. I have also seen how thoughtful leadership, healthy governance, and strategic clarity can transform organizations and deepen their impact.
Stable and Growing exists to help nonprofits build that kind of health—intentionally and sustainably.
A Perspective Shaped by Experience
Having served on both sides of the table—as organizational leader and board member—I understand the pressures and responsibilities each role carries. Boards want to govern well and support the mission. Leaders want clarity, partnership, and the ability to focus on impact. When those roles are misunderstood or misaligned, everyone feels the strain.
My work is grounded in the belief that:
- Healthy governance is essential to mission impact
- Clear roles and expectations build trust
- Strategic clarity enables sustainable growth
- Strong organizations are built over time, not rushed
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I partner with boards and leaders to understand their context, challenges, and aspirations—and to help them move forward with intention.
How I Work
My approach is practical, collaborative, and rooted in real nonprofit experience. I work alongside organizations as a guide—helping them ask the right questions, make informed decisions, and build structures and practices that support long-term health.
This work may include:
- Strengthening board governance and effectiveness
- Supporting executive leaders through seasons of change
- Guiding nonprofit startups from idea to early maturity
- Helping organizations discern readiness for fundraising or capital campaigns
At every stage, the focus remains the same: clarity before urgency, alignment before action, and health before growth.
Why “Stable and Growing”
Nonprofits need both stability and growth to fulfill their mission. Stability provides the foundation—clear governance, healthy leadership, and trust. Growth allows organizations to adapt, expand, and deepen their impact.
Stable and Growing reflects a commitment to both.
